Abstract

In the post-pandemic era, consumer demand for material goods continues to grow. Under economic constraints, the second-hand luxury market has become an increasingly attractive option. This study focuses on second-hand luxury bags and develops a research framework to examine the causal relationships among Generation Z students’ fashion consciousness, perceived residual value, perceived risk, perceived value, and purchase intention. Data were collected through an online questionnaire using a snowball purposive sampling method, targeting Generation Z college students in western Taiwan. A total of 352 valid responses were obtained. The data were analyzed using SPSS 28 and SmartPLS 3. The results indicate that: Fashion consciousness, perceived residual value, and perceived value exert significant positive effects on purchase intention, while perceived risk does not. Perceived residual value partially mediates the relationship between fashion consciousness and purchase intention. Perceived value also partially mediates the relationship between fashion consciousness and purchase intention.
